RNZ Concert host Bryan Crump recently spent a week in Australia and he took his recording device with him.
And because he was still running on NZ time, he got up early; early enough to capture some pretty sweet sounds at the crack'o'dawn, including this made by a billabong in the Victorian city of Ballarat (the magpies are especially fine).
You don't have to be a jolly swagman to appreciate this Sonic Moment of Calm, but you can pretend you're there if you like.
