What I cover: I cover any story that is making headlines, including politics, business, sport, technology. The aim of the The Detail podcast is to give an explanation of the issues behind the big news stories. And to give readers and listeners a better understanding of New Zealand and global news.
My background: I have been a journalist for 41 years, starting as a cadet reporter for the Rotorua Daily Post. I have worked in newspapers in New Zealand, Australia, Vietnam and Hong Kong. I have worked as a radio reporter and producer at RNZ, Newstalk ZB and BBC in London. My television experience includes TVNZ, TV3 and CNBC in Hong Kong. In my time at RNZ, I've worked as business reporter and programme producer (2011-2015), Auckland Bureau Chief (2015-2018) and Presenter of The Detail podcast since 2018. In the last few years The Detail has won several awards for best news or current affairs podcast.
