Peter Walls’ diverse musical involvement

Peter Walls can certainly be described as a musical Renaissance Man – or maybe that should be Baroque Man?

He’s a noted baroque violinist and scholar in the field of early music. He was a Professor and for many years and head of head of Victoria University’s School of Music. He's also an arts administrator – former CEO of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and current Chief Executive of Chamber Music New Zealand.

He’s also in demand as a conductor, having worked with Hamilton’s Opus Chamber Orchestra and Wellington choir Nota Bene.

Peter Walls talks to Upbeat ahead of a Nota Bene concert including the Fauré Requiem and music by Henry Purcell.
