Locals fear airbase water contamination behind illnesses

The Defence Force face prosecution for contaminating groundwater with toxic chemicals used in fire-fighting foam. It has admitted the chemicals have leached into soil and water near bases at Ohakea and Woodbourne and contaminated seven properties. Residents living near Ohakea Airbase say they are still in the dark about the level of threat they face.
