The National Party is renewing it's calls on the government to include nurses in the fast track to residence program, as a workforce shortage of four-thousand grips the industry.
Staff at North Shore Hospital have lodged a health and safety complaint with Te Whatu Ora, claiming they're unable to provide safe emergency services due to a lack of staff and available beds.
They say staff and patients could be harmed if urgent changes aren't made.
The National Party's immigration spokesperson, Erica Stanford, spoke to Māni Dunlop.
