Second man charged following fatal motorcycle hit-and-run

Police say they have now charged a second person following the death of a pedestrian in Rotorua.

Paige Johnson, 24, died after the hit-and-run on Edmund Road on 15 June.

A 55-year-old man was arrested in Rotorua and charged with being an accessory after the fact to manslaughter.

Police say while executing the warrant, ammunition, cannabis and stolen property was discovered, the man also facing charges in relation to those.

On Wednesday police arrested a 31-year-old Hamilton man and charged him with manslaughter, failing to stop to ascertain injury or death and driving while disqualified.
