A fire in a six-storey residential block in downtown Auckland has been extinguished.
Fire crews were called to the building on High Street just after 8.15pm.
The fire broke out in the laundry on the first floor.
Fire and Emergency said it was not yet clear when residents can go back into the building.
High Street is still blocked to traffic.
Fire and Emergency said eight trucks, including two ladder trucks, and a command unit were at the scene.
