New Zealand tennis player Michael Venus and his partner have been beaten in their men's doubles semi-final at the US Open.
Venus and Yuki Bhambri, the 14th seeds, were beaten in three sets by sixth seeds Neil Skuspki and Joe Salisbury of Britain.
Venus and Bhambri won the first set in a tie break, lost the second in a tie break with the Brits taking the third 6-4.
It is the most successful US Open for Venus with his previous best result the third round in 2014 and 2022.
Venus won the 2017 French Open title with American Ryan Harrison and was a finalist at Wimbledon in 2018 with South African Raven Klaasen.
Skupski and Salisbury will meet either Robert Cash and JJ Tracy of the United States or Marcel Granollers, of Spain, and Horacio Zeballos, of Argentina, in the final which is scheduled to be played on Sunday (NZ time).

On Saturday fellow New Zealander Erin Routliffe and her Canadian partner Gaby Dabrowski will play the women's doubles final.
The pair will take on top seeds Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic and Taylor Townsend of the US.
The winning combination will get US$1 million (NZ$1.7m) to share, while the runners-up will earn US$500,000.
Routliffe and Dabrowski won the US Open doubles title in 2023 and this is the third time they have played a grand slam final after losing the 2024 Wimbledon title match.
