A person has been seriously in a crash on a motorway intersection in Lower Hutt.
Fire and Emergency shift manager Chris Dalton said multiple people were trapped in both vehicles.
Two specialist fire trucks attended and the people were pulled out, he said.

Southbound lanes on SH2 and the intersection with Kennedy Good Bridge were closed following the crash, while access to Fairway Drive and Avalon was also blocked.
At 8am, traffic heading into Wellington had backed up past the SH2/SH58 Haywards Interchange.
All lanes reopened just before 9am, but NZTA/Waka Kotahi said road users should expect delays until traffic congestion cleared.
