Spellodies is a family band made up of Steph Brown and Fen Ikner from the Silver Scroll award-winning group Lips and their nine year old son Freddy. In 2024 the trio took home the APRA Children’s Award for Best Song for Primary-Age Kids for their waiata 'Because.' Steph joins Kara to discuss the new Spellodies album.

14:40 UK jazz septet Kokoroko backstage at The Powerstation
On Wednesday night in Auckland the London-based seven-piece played a sold-out show at The Powerstation. Made up of 1st generation Brits whose parents immigrated from West Africa and Ethiopia, they incorporate genres like funk and RnB but are known as a jazz group, part of a fertile scene that includes other acts like Ezra Collective.
Tony Stamp visited the venue before the show and caught up with all seven members.
